Hi, I'm Karen!

Karen Denton

Professional Counseling Intern (PC-Intern)

I consider it a great privilege to sit in a quiet loving environment to hear whatever you need to share, or even wait for details that you’re not ready to discuss. I believe so much progress can be made through meaningful connection free of judgement. And with privacy that demands respect each person can experience what they deserve. I think it takes bravery to seek counsel and it’s a step in the right direction to hope your own self-discovery can be an unforgettable journey, one step at a time.

I empathize with not understanding timing and have come to accept a divinity that goes without explanation. Instead it comes with great peace. I understand what it’s like to feel forgotten and engage in experiences later in life anticipated. And this may be due to trauma and timing outside of your control.

With appreciation for unexplainable perseverance patience beyond what you desire we can work to apply helpful approaches to your life circumstances. Existentialism is a foundational theory I relate to, as it develops meaning through life’s hardship, exploring loneliness and death to make sense of times many dread. Adlerian theory is another approach I use. It emphasizes social connection, a sense of belonging, and positive change. This makes me consider how a flower will not grow in dry dirt with no sunlight. Likewise, I believe a person must also have the right ‘soil and warmth’ for their ability to have beauty and growth.

We will work together with the goal of seeking true understanding of your
circumstances. After twenty-five years of practice in the art of massage therapy, my intention is still the same; to achieve peace of mind and stress relief in daily living. I appreciate how counseling is a very intimate and personal experience. So it requires earning trust and listening to what you truly need. I hope to listen and understand your delicate needs so I can offer a peaceful place to slow down and take life a little slower.

As a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, I have experienced both pleasure and pain shaping me into who I am today. So I look forward to helping you find peace and comfort mentally and emotionally.
