Vulnerability. Triggers. Humility. Capacity. Validation. Boundaries. Authenticity. Discovery. Each of these popular terms can describe what occurs within the therapy process. However, what we say versus how and why we say it can be vastly different things. Because of that, how we communicate with ourselves and others is a critical component to the process of becoming your best self (or at least the self that you prefer)! I firmly believe that you are the only author of the dictionary that most accurately defines you. Welcome to your first page!
During our time together, my job is to support AND challenge you as you outline and accomplish your goals. I do that in a way that is both relational and therapeutic, providing space and encouragement for you to edit as many times as necessary. I also recognize that there is no one “right” or “wrong” way to share your story; my goal is to hear your voice in the volume that you require. Meaning, your therapy journey is truly, genuinely YOUR therapy journey.
I use different therapy approaches based on your needs. Here are a few examples: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) will help us explore how your thoughts influence your feelings and actions. Narrative Therapy will help us rewrite problematic “stories” that have painted you as the “problem.” Solution-Focused Therapy will help us identify your strengths and use that momentum to drive toward future solutions instead of remaining “stuck” in the past. Experiential Therapy (Humanistic, EMDR, IFS, ACT) will help us address trauma and traumatic experiences while encouraging compassionate healing and self-acceptance.
I have experience working with clients from youth (ages 5–18) to older adults. I support individuals, couples, friends, and families navigating anxiety, life transitions or adjustment, depression, self-worth and identity, grief and loss, trauma or traumatic experiences, and relationship dynamics.
This is your sign to finally choose you. Your life is already its own book. I cannot wait for you and me to read it together!
