Candidate for Licensed Marital & Family Therapist (LMFT-C)

Sometimes intimidating thoughts and feelings initiate ideas about seeing a therapist. Those thoughts and feelings can always serve to begin exploring many other thoughts and feelings. Whether you have no experience with therapy or previous walks with other professionals, the idea of having another person involved in your life takes great courage.

My goal is to give you the best experience with therapy. I believe in the beginning it is most important that the space be safe, comfortable, and inspiring for growth. My goal is to allow you to ask any questions and raise any concerns you may have so we can create an atmosphere where you can freely express yourself.

I use various models to help us reach your unique goals. Experiential Therapy gives us a path to walk together as we explore expressed emotions and underlying beliefs. This model also gives me the opportunity to get to know you and helps open more doors into your values and motivations. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to reveal the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Incorporating Family Systems Theory and Bowenian/Transgenerational Theory help us explore the experiences that influence how we react and relate to the world around us and how those experiences alter our self-concept.

The methods I use also help build communication between you and others by first recognizing the relationship between you and another, then together we design goals to create the desired relationship.

My specialty is working with families and anything related to relationships and communication. I see individuals of all ages, couples, and families. A major tool used in our meetings is to recognize cognitive distortions influencing our self-esteem, behavior, and how we relate to others. The treatment plan we write together will serve as a guide for therapy, but each session is about what is important to you and for you. I’m honored to welcome you to be you.
