Life can feel like a struggle of daily battles against depression, anger, anxiety, and broken relationships. Often we feel alone in these struggles, but it doesn’t have to be that way. I will have your back as we develop your strengths, explore your worldview and thought processes, and help you build support in your social circles.

I approach therapy with an integration of Existential and Adlerian models. Existential therapy focuses on the big questions in life to discover meaning. When we begin to make sense of our world, we can more easily find our place in it. Adlerian therapy emphasizes social connectedness. By strengthening your social connections, you can be empowered to establish healthy boundaries, find meaningful relationships, and develop a stronger sense of yourself. My primary aim is to ally with you in therapy. I am here for you and will help you in every way I can.

Over the last few years, I have been working with teenagers as a high school teacher. Before that, I worked at a retreat center where I mentored teens and young adults. I have developed an even deeper appreciation and special love for this age group and the unique challenges this rapid transitional stage in life faces. I appreciate working with their families, and the ups and downs of mental health, and I have a special interest and insight into internet addictions.

So, why should you do counseling with me? In my life, I have been through many humbling experiences and grown empathy, compassion, patience, and awareness of critical situations impacting mental health. I grew up in the jungles of Panama, the cobblestone streets of Guatemala, and one of the largest cities in the world. I was able to help refugees and aid workers in Ukraine. I’ve been a teacher, an electrician, and a referee, and wear so many other hats which have all been experiences that have shaped me. I understand the many faces of life’s challenges. I’ve been there and come back, let me walk with you through your journey now.
